§ Release notes
Two builds, one campaign.
mimicdm ships as an Electron app the host runs. Today it is a single-player campaign tool. Multiplayer — the one your whole party can join — is in late build and opens to waitlist members first, in small rounds, so the backend holds.
Solo · available now
Single-player build
Runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux via Electron. Point it at LM Studio or OpenRouter, pick one of the nine narrators, and roll a 5e character. Good for testing the narrator voices, the combat loop, and your own campaign writing before you bring the table in.
Builds are signed per-platform. We don’t want you dragging an unsigned dmg past Gatekeeper to test this. We’re getting certificates in order.
Multiplayer · in build
Bring the party.
The host runs the Electron app as normal. Friends join from play.mimicdm.com on any browser — phone, laptop, tablet. No download. No account. Push-to-talk per character, live transcript, shared dice, async handling for absent players.
Waitlist members get a week of early access before a public opening. We open in small rounds, not all at once, because the backend is a small team’s backend and we would like it to survive.
Seat yourself at the next opening.
We send a single plain-text email when your round opens. Nothing else. No drip campaign, no launch-day sales.
no spam, no decks, no ‘following up.’
